How to Sew a Button: Handsewing for Complete Beginners In-Person

Join us to learn the basics of handsewing, an essential life skill. Learn to thread a needle, sew on a button, and sew fabric with running stitch while creating a simple felt pouch with button decorations. No sewing experience necessary!

Children under 12 must be supervised by their responsible adult.

For the best experience, we recommend that children be able to:

  • Sit still for an hour or longer
  • Listen to and follow directions
  • Have the fine motor skills to be able to do the activity on their own without getting overly frustrated
